Donations collected for the American Red Cross Haiti Fund---

During the months of February, March and April 2010, Nelson Chiropractic in Bettendorf took $20.00 donations to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti…”Have a Heart for Haiti”.  This  successful promotion has allowed Nelson Chiropractic to be able to donate nearly $1500  to the American Red Cross.  The donations for Have a Heart for Haiti was for new patients to receive an exam, a consultation with one of the doctors, a report of findings and any necessary x-rays.  This is $200+ value all for a $20.00 donation to the American Red Cross Haiti fund.

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.  The American Red Cross is sending money, supplies and staff to Haiti to support relief efforts after the earthquake, which caused catastrophic damage and loss of life.

ACCUPUNCTURE

Dr. Amanda Friemel is back in our office and very busy with acupuncture patients after a brief maternity leave and will continue specializing in chiropractic and acupuncture care.  In 2007, she received her Diplomate in Acupuncture through the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture documenting over 400 hours of post-graduate study.

Acupuncture is one of the oldest healing arts known to man. It is very effective in the treatment of pain and musculoskeletal disorders which is why it is complementary to chiropractic. Acupuncture has increased in popularity in recent times due to numerous research studies that have validated its benefits. Acupuncture has been found to help with the following conditions: headaches of various origin, pain removal and control, joint conditions, arthritis, anxiety, depression, sinus problems, frequent colds and flu, morning sickness, menstrual problems, lack of energy and much more.
